Bandwidth Optimising Router

Users in remote locations often have a need for a low cost, stable internet connection. Unfortunatly the only option is often expensive satellite links, our client asked us to create a way of optimising their connection. With all satellite links the cost of data is high so reducing the amount transmitted over the link is important.

Globe developed a solution to compress data at a datacenter and then uncompress the data at the remote location, saving the client up-to 50% on their data costs. This also included a local mail server that would fetch mail from the datacenter and then present it locally for the users to stop all the email clients hammering the link checking for emails.

Network Monitoring Probe

As networks get larger it becomes harder to monitor how your network is performing. With our Network Monitoring Probes clients are able to monitor many aspects of their WAN links, including utilisation, stability, types of traffic and a heads up on any potential problems that may arise.

This product was developed after Globe noticed a space in the market for a cost effective probe compared to other options available within the requirements, one of which was to be small enough to be rack mounted in a half depth wiring rack. As an example one client has deployed Globe's Network Monitoring Probes across 50 international sites and has commented on the excellent data results they have collected.
