Challenge
Our client was struggling with expensive satellite communication between multiple sites in remote locations. While communication is vital they needed to reduce the cost and therefore the amount of data being communicated via satellite links.
Solution
Working closely with the company, Globe developed a solution that compressed data at a data centre and then uncompressed it at the remote location.
Our solution included a local mail server that fetched mail from the data centre and then presented it locally to the users. This stopped all the email users from hammering the link checking for emails.
The web interface allowed easy management of the hardware.
Results
Our solution saved our client up to 50% on their data transmission costs, which has now paid for the cost of the project many times over.
